Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Bobbington Parish Council held on Wednesday 26 May 2010 at 7pm in the Gospel Ash Methodist Church Room.
Present: Councillors: T Rees, D Kimbley, W J Snelson, Mrs. J Humphries, Mrs. L Jones, S Homer

Apologies for non-attendance were submitted on behalf of Cllr. Mrs. Tudor
- Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
- Election of Chairman
Councillor Rees was proposed by Cllr. Kimbley and seconded by Cllr. Snelson. There being no further nominations, Councillor Rees was re-elected.
- Minutes:
RESOLVED that the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting of Bobbington Parish Council held on 20 May 2009, a copy having previously been circulated to each member of the Council, be approved and signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

Cllr. Kimbley was proposed by Cllr. Snelson and seconded by Cllr. Mrs. Jones.

Agreed to remain as Cllr. Snelson, Cllr. Kimbley and Cllr. Mrs. Tudor.

- Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport Consultative Committee
Cllr. Kimbley was proposed by Cllr. Snelson and seconded by Cllr. Mrs. Humphries to continue.

- Village Hall Committee
Cllr. Snelson proposed Cllr. Mrs. Tudor, this was seconded by Cllr. Kimbley.

- Corbett School
Cllr. Mrs. Humphries proposed Cllr. Mrs. Jones this was seconded by Cllr. Snelson. The clerk was asked to send a letter of thanks to Karin Hampton for her assistance.

- Trustee of the Fanny Wright Gatacre Charity
Cllr. Snelson reported that his trust had been wound up and amalgamated with Claverley.

Bill Hayhurst was nominated to continue. Clerk to make contact.

Cllr. Kimbley proposed Cllr. Mrs. Humphries, this was seconded by Cllr. Mrs Snelson.

Cllr. Rees agreed to continue.

Cllr. Snelson agreed to continue.

Cllr. Snelson agreed to continue.
- Chairman’s report:
The Chairman’s report was read out by the Chairman. A copy of which is filed in the Minute Book.
- Corbett School report
Cllr. Mrs. Jones reported that the current year’s finances were good, however there is a budget deficit for next year. The Governors are looking into strategies to increase numbers. Cllr. Mrs. Jones reported that the Dower House is to close. Several parents have contacted Mrs. Southall with a view of sending their children to Corbett. The nursery is also providing source of pupils.
- Village Hall report
This was adjourned to the next Parish Council meeting.
- Holy Cross Church
Cllr. Mrs. Humphries read a brief report, a copy of which is filed in the Minute book.
- Civic Award
The Chairman confirmed that Rebecca Evans had been nominated for and accepted the Civic Award. The presentation will be made at the next Council meeting. It was agreed that the monetary award should be increased to £50. The Clerk agreed to arrange a small bouquet. Cllr. Kimbley had prepared the certificate, the Chairman agreed to arrange the framing.
- Annual Meeting and Annual General Meeting – a proposal to combine these meetings
for the foreseeable future.
The Clerk was asked to look into the regulations governing Annual Parish meetings and Annual General Meetings. The matter was adjourned to the June Parish Council meeting when this information would be available.
- Any other Business
Cllr. Snelson reported that he had attended the official opening of Highgate Common Visitor Centre with Cllr. Mrs. Humphies. The Leader of South Staffs Council, Cllr. McCardle had opened the centre.
The Chairman asked the clerk to send a letter of congratulations to Cllr. McCardle on his elevation to Chairman.
- Date of next Annual General Meeting arranged for 18 May 2010 (subject to any elections).
